7th Tartu-Konstanz Doctoral Seminar “Comparative Private Law and EU Law” will take place 14.-17.11.2017
The main purpose of the 7th Tartu- Konstanz seminar is to discuss about the importance and functions of comparative law and its role among different research methods and relationship with EU law. Even if comprehensive comparative studies pave the way to legal harmonization in constantly expanding spheres and Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) has elaborated a sophisticated comparative methodology for filling lacunas and interpreting Union law, there are tendencies towards diminishing relevance of comparative law for the European project. Presentations will offer possibility to discuss in the framework of very different legal fields about the importance of comparative law, its challenges and the future of the relationship between comparative law and European Law.
