American attorney Michael Semler is teaching a course on U.S. Securities Law and Litigation
On the 17th of September a two-week course on U.S. Securities Law and Litigation started at the School of Law Tartu campus.
The lecture series is held by a visiting lecturer from the United States H. Michael Semler who has practiced law in Washington for more than 40 years.
Semler has worked for twenty years for the U.S. Department of Justice and for fourteen years at the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). While at the Department of Justice he represented the United States in a wide variety of federal court litigation and was lead counsel in large trials and high-stakes appeals.
Mr. Semler graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and earned his law degree at the University of Chicago School of Law.
Mr. Semler is visiting the Faculty of Law under the auspices of the Center for International Legal Studies in Salzburg, Austria.
