Dr Merilin Kiviorg (Senior Research Fellow in Public International Law) was re-elected to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Panel of Experts on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) for new three year term
The role of the Panel is to provide advice to ODIHR, and through ODIHR to OSCE participating States, on implementation of international human rights standards. Recently the panel was engaged in preparing new guidelines on FoRB and Security.
The guidelines will be discussed at the first meeting of the new panel on 27-29 August and presented at the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (2019, https://www.osce.org/odihr/hdim_2019) of OSCE participating States that is one of the Europe's largest annual human rights and democracy conference.
Experts work for the OSCE pro bono and in their individual capacity.
