Dr Merilin Kiviorg was appointed to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Panel of Experts on Freedom of Religion or Belief
Dr Merilin Kiviorg (Senior Research Fellow in Public International Law) was appointed to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Panel of Experts on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) for a three year term.
The members of the Panel are selected on the basis of their expertise in the area of FoRB, including legislation and international human rights standards, religion and global affairs, education about religion and belief, and the interrelationship between FoRB and security.
The role of the Panel is to provide advice to ODIHR, and through ODIHR to OSCE participating States, on matters pertaining to the FoRB, including on (draft) legislation, policies and state practices in this area. Experts work for the OSCE on a pro bono basis.
