Legal scientists of the University of Tartu celebrate the anniversary of Estonia’s National University with an alumni get-together
On 3–4 October, the School of Law of the University of Tartu celebrates the 100th birthday of Estonia’s National University with an alumni get-together. On the first day the alumni conference “100 years later” is held, and the second day, a career fair. More than 800 current students and alumni of the School of Law of the University of Tartu will participate in the reunion.
On 3 October more than 50 presenters will take the floor in 12 specialty sessions. The topics that are discussed will vary from international law, scientific psychology and practical law, minority rights, and the common future of law and technology, to juveniles in the legal system, among other topical issues. The day will end with an alumni party in the convent building of Ugala Fraternity.
Events on 4 October are dedicated to legal education and the career in law. The career fair at the Dorpat Convention Centre will bring together Estonian law students from Tartu and Tallinn, as well as legal practitioners and traineeship providers from all over Estonia.
In addition to the career fair, it is possible to take part in the history walk guided by Toomas Liivamägi in the Karlova district of Tartu at 14:00. Four new legal publications will be presented.
