School of Law organizes several international summer schools every year.
Since 2012 we organize the Martens Summer School on International Law. The programme is managed by Professor of International Law Lauri Mälksoo and annually brings together approximately 25–30 students from around the world. Each year we invite 4 distinguished lecturers from different countries and each lecturer presents 5 lectures over 5 days of the week. The 9th Martens Summer School on International Law will take place on July 26-30, 2021 in Zoom.
In addition, Professor Irene Kull is a co-organizer of the Salzburg Summer School of European Private Law. This has been a springboard for several young UT researchers and was the starting point for the Academy of European Private Law in which our law scholars actively participate. In 2020, the Salzburg Summer School of European Private Law took place from 5 to 12 September and the theme was "European Private Law and the challenge of COVID-19". People could also participate digitally. In 2021, the Salzburg Summer School of European Private Law will take place in hybrid form from 5 to 11 July on the theme of "European Private Law".
