Estonian e-Society: from e-Services and e-Governance to Cyber Security

Participating this course, you will:

  • improve your knowledge on the possible use of ICT technologies in different fields and learn to analyse its advantages as well as risks;
  • gain the necessary competences to analyse how the use of ICT technologies influences governance, democracy and society;
  • acquire understanding of the main trends related to politically motivated cyber-attacks and learn to distinguish the political, legal and ICT aspects of international cyber security.

Week I in Tallinn - Estonia as a New Silicon Valley: Estonian Information Society, ICT and Democracy
Week II in Tartu - Cyber Security, Governance and Communication in Information Society

The programme is structured along a balanced time-schedule that combines formal and non-formal education methodologies, stimulating the active participation and the interaction between students and teaching staff. Besides lectures and seminars different study visits are organised to relevant ICT sector enterprises as well to official institutions, foundations and NGOs. There is also an interesting cultural programme in all hosting cities.

The programme awards 4 ECTS.

The application deadline is 20 May 2015. 

The programme fee is 1395 EUR. Covers participation in lectures, field trips, such as site visits and professional meetings organised as part of the academic programme, accommodation in hostels (two persons in one room) with the breakfast, organised transportation between the cities and cultural events during the programme. 

The payment deadline is June 1, 2015.
